I just read about the switch to Speed Cobras. I've read a lot of very good reviews and comments about the feel of the pedal, bbut I'm really interested in your opinion.

Gavin Says:

Pedals are very personal things - like drum sticks. They all 'do the job' but some you find suit you and the kind of music you're playing better than others. I spent 9 happy years playing the Axis pedals and they are indeed very good. I tried the Tama Speed Cobras and I felt that they suited me a bit better for where I am now. There are no short cuts - you still have to practise like mad to get good accurate bass drum notes. All bass drum pedals can be tuned in their own way - for heavy or light feel - but all the pedals have a different intrinsic feel to them. I can't tell you if you'll find what you're looking for - but I can say that the Tamas are extremely well designed and very nicely thought out. They are a different feel - and one that I'm enjoying.
